Enneagram for Life
Understand the pattern. Meet life with more choice.
Individual work can begin through traditional Enneagram conversation and inquiry, or with iEQ9 when you want a structured starting point. Couples work begins with individual iEQ9 assessments and debriefs so that each person's pattern is understood before the shared dynamic is explored.
A short conversation to understand what brings you here and whether this work is a useful fit.
Individual Coaching
Individual coaching creates a private space to examine a recurring response, relationship dynamic, transition or development question through the Enneagram.
Rather than applying a generic description, we work with what is happening now: what captures your attention, what you anticipate, what you avoid, what becomes automatic and what another response would require.
You do not need to select the exact route in advance. The introductory call helps determine the most useful individual starting point.
Couples Coaching
Two people can care deeply for each other and still experience the same interaction in completely different ways. What one person intends as care may arrive as control. A request for reassurance may be heard as doubt. A wish for space may be interpreted as withdrawal.
The Enneagram gives couples a shared language for exploring these differences without deciding that one person is "the problem."
There is no ideal Enneagram pairing. Every combination carries resources and predictable tensions. The purpose is to see one another more accurately and practise a different interaction — not to use Type as evidence against a partner.
Couples coaching begins with the iEQ9 Couples Assessment. It provides a prepared view of both partners and the dynamics between them, giving the joint coaching work a shared starting map. Results are treated as hypotheses for inquiry — not as evidence that one partner is right.
The first call establishes suitability and scope. Couples coaching is developmental work and is not appropriate for every conflict situation.
When the usual response keeps returning
The Enneagram does not ask only, "What did you do?" It helps us explore what your attention moved toward, what you were trying to protect, and what made that response feel necessary.
A map, not a box
The Enneagram describes nine recurring structures of attention and motivation. Each pattern has characteristic strengths, fears, defences and ways of responding when life becomes demanding.
But a person is more than a Type. The work can also explore:
The purpose is not to collect a more detailed label. It is to recognise an automatic pattern sooner, understand what sustains it and discover a more intentional response.
A small reflection
Under pressure, what does your attention reach for first?
Most of us use all three. Notice which one becomes difficult to put down.
Neither individual route replaces the coaching relationship. An assessment is interpreted through conversation; an assessment-free start is still grounded in systematic Enneagram inquiry. Couples work uses the iEQ9 Couples Assessment as its standard foundation because it provides a shared view of both partners and the relationship dynamic.
The work in practice
Depending on what you bring, a session may involve:
The first useful moment is often not "I have found my Type." It is: "I can see the pattern while it is happening — and I have another possible response."
Events
Talks, introductory sessions and experiential events offer a lower-pressure way to encounter the Enneagram, explore a theme and decide whether you want to go further.
Events may include introductions to the nine patterns, the three centres, instincts and subtypes, relationships, communication, presence and working with automatic reactions.
Small-group training and experiential workshops are currently being developed for people who want more depth than an introductory event and the opportunity to learn through shared reflection.
Possible themes include:

Common questions
You do not need to know your Type or choose an individual coaching route in advance. Bring the question, pattern or relationship dynamic that is present now. We will clarify the most useful individual starting point, or explain the structured iEQ9 foundation for couples work.
